Here Birdy!

A pair of birds have recently begun to hang out on our deck in the afternoon. They usually show up around lunch time. One flew away as I went to get the picture but this one stuck around long enough for her close-up! You have to look closely because she sort of blends in but she is on the corner just above the bell.

Bowling

We all went bowling today and got a nice picture of all of us together. M&K really had a fun time!

Happy Birthday Uncle!

Friday was my brother's birthday and we went out Saturday to celebrate. This would have been a nice picture except for the baby looking off to the side. It was taken on the Cracker Barrel rocking chairs before dinner.

This very scary young lady is Dentina. She was part of the display at a field trip my pre-schooler's class took to a health center today!

Avenue Q!!!!!!!!

My awesome husband surprised me with tickets to Avenue Q tonight. Never one to do anything without a production...he created this folder and had it in a box for me to open. He is so creative! It made my night and I can't wait to see the show!

Groundhog Day!

So it's become a tradition since moving here 3 years ago that the kids get up early with my husband and go see our local groundhog on Groundhog's Day. They do a little ceremony in the park and then give out tickets to a dinner for later that day. The kids love it! Here are they are on their way into dinner.

Hi there!

This is a scary guy I see sometimes when I am out & about. The family changes his clothes and messages periodically, but the skull face remains year round. I find it especially freaky when driving by at night. Weird!

Sunset

This is the view from a street close to home. It looked so pretty that I had to stop and take a picture. I love everything about it - the iced over field, the silo with the sunset behind it and the tall grass blowing in the wind.

Give Me Liberty...

This is the new trend around here. A year or two ago these Liberty Tax Service places started popping up and at tax time you will see someone dressed as the Statue of Liberty waving as cars go by. My kids think it's so funny. Today we got a man as Lady Liberty & he turned away just as I went to snap the picture. We still loved it though!

Branching Out

We had a winter storm over night and the first thing my son noticed during breakfast was how you could only see a little bit of the tiny trees growing along our property line. He thought that was pretty neat.

Hippity Hop

This is what the back of our public buses looks like. It is the Rabbit Transit system and many of the buses have tails. My sister didn't beleive me for the longest time and now it is an ongoing joke. Everytime we see one my daughter tells me I should take a picture for Aunt. So here it is!

Frozen

We were driving through the city today when we passed this frozen fountain. My husband circled the block so I could get a picture. We all thought it was pretty cool looking.

Sign

Truly a sign of the times! This little store changes it's signs often but usually it is some cute play on words. This one made me smile as I drove by so I stopped on the way back for a picture.

Inauguration Celebration

This is my daughter's Inauguration Celebration re-enactment in her room using all of her Polly Pockets, Barbies, Paper Dolls, etc. She's very creative and was quite excited. How neat to think that an 8-year-old spent the day playing out an inauguration!

My 4-year-old actually took today's picture. This is me happily removing my bumper sticker just moments before Obama's swearing in. Oh Happy Day!

Snowy Day

Today we got some unexpected snow fall. I actually took this picture from my car while waiting to be waved through an accident scene. I looked over while I was sitting there and thought it was just so peaceful and beautiful.

Saint & Sinner

A local church changes its posts every few days and they are always very interesting to say the least. This is actually one of the tamer signs - sometimes they are really outrageous!

Man's Best Friend

I walk in the kitchen after putting my older kids to bed and find my husband laying on the floor with the dog. You just never know what you might see in this house!

BAAA!

Okay - so this is a lot like the alpaca shot, but my 4-year-old pointed out these sheep and said, "They'd be cool on your website mom." So how could I resist? Therefore, today's picture is sheep! Since we live in a rural area, I have a feeling there will be many livestock pics showing up on this blog. LOL
